Here's the story that just came down the news wire
ODDITY-Endless-Hiccups
INDEX: International
ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- A 15-year-old girl in Florida has been hiccuping for three weeks -- 50 times a minute, stopping only when she's asleep.
Home remedies, blood tests, C-T scans and an M-R-I have failed to resolve the problem.
Neither has holding her breath, putting sugar under her tongue, sipping pickle juice, breathing into a paper bag and drinking from the wrong side of a glass.
And, yes, people have tried to scare them out of her.
According to the National Institutes of Health, hiccups can be triggered by anything from spicy foods to stress, and they can start for no apparent reason.
It's painful, the teenager tells N-B-C's ``Today'' show, trying to talk through her hiccups.
The suggestions of hundreds of readers of a local newspaper where her mother turned for help have also failed.
The mother is not giving up.
At this point, she says, we're willing to try anything.
