I like Optimus Prime. I'm talking about the version from the original 80s Transformers.
Yes, I know that Transformers was an American cartoon, but after they wrote and storyboarded the episodes, they contracted a Japanese company (Toei Animation) to do the animation (although a few badly animated episodes were done by a Korean company called AKOM).
I really can't stand some of the really cheap anime like Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Digimon or that card game, whatever it is. Actually, most Anime sucks. I like the adult, high violence cartoons such as Akira, Fist of the North Star, The Professional, and the Ghost in the Shell TV series.
But I'm going with Optimus Prime cause he's a childhood favourite.

I like many anime characters . Naruto( he's funny and we always root for the under dog), Rock Lee ( he's cute in a creepy, bushy eyebrow sort of way), Inuyasha( now if I had to date an imaginary half wolf demon it would be him) and Sailor Moon ( I like the idea that she's some princess from outer space with no memory of her true origins). From your Avatar I would guess you like Sailor Moon but I could be wrong.

I like to many animes and mangas to pick just one!
Gaara- from Naruto. He's just wicked cool.
Train- from Black Cat. I just have a thing for assassins.
Ichigo- from Bleach. No reason, really.
Ed- from Full Metal Alchemist. I like his fighting style and his automail.
Hm.. a bunch more, but I am currently needed elsewhere.
Oh, and real quick, also from Naruto (I'm a huge Naruto fan): Itachi, Iruka, Mizuki, Lee, Hinata, and Sasuke.

I do believe your favorite character is Kurata Sana or Sana-chan from the anime

My favorite would be Seita from "Grave of the Fireflies". I like for the fact that he seems very human. He is forced to grow up fast because of the conditions he faces. He is responisible person who cares for younger sister and does whatever he can for her. Like any human, he done his share of "bad" things as well. Because food is so difficult to come by, he is not above stealing food (for himself or his sister) when the opportunity arises. He is a character that one can really empathise with the struggles he faces.

I am one for Sailor Moon and the Scouts, especially Sailor Mars, as she can see into a person's soul, if you will. This was shown to me when Mars persuaded Catzi, of the four sisters, to come to the side of right, and Sailor Moon healed her. I remember the episode, it was titled, "Enemies No More", which was very good.

I like Ranma in Ranma 1/2 because he's good-looking, has awesome moves, and still protective of akane when she's in trouble. All reputable traits in a guy.
YOur avatar might lika him,too. just watch out for akane. she has a very mean temper when her fiance is involved. :>
