I am looking to get a lap top. I don't need or want anything fancy, just something to surf the internet and to store digital pictures. Does it matter what brand I get? I am looking for something new and cheap. I see a lot of brands, but not sure if they are all created equal or not.

I would go with Dell, you will get the most bang for your buck there. Since you don't need anything fancy, Dell would be perfect.

I would recommend Dell, simply because of their customization options. If not, I have recently seen some good deals on certain Sony laptops.

There are plenty of computers that fit into your description. Before buying one, check on google for reviews of it though.
