I recently bought an item on e-bay and mailed the seller a money order for the amount. They just e-mailed me today saying that they recieved my payment but that the m/o or c/c was not included. I know for a fact that it was in the envelope. What can I do? Am I just out the money? If they got the other two pieces of paper but not the money order; that were all in the same envelope, what can I do?

First you need to CANCEL the money order! Report it as lost so that if it was indeed lost no one else can cash it. Also this will keep them from cashing that one and an additional MO.

Did you keep the receipt that comes with the MO? That is your proof of payment. I would not pay them again, you might need to contact ebay to settle the dispute.

BTW, Money orders and cash are bad news on ebay for this very reason, get a (free) paypal account, they keep you update with online receipts and they let you know when the seller receives the payment.

some human beings advertising issues on ebay do no longer know what they even have. So if a shopper gets it cheap and can resell it for an more suitable value by ability of itemizing it and describing it exact, greater ability to them. They deserve the money for understanding their stuff.

Contact the Post Office (or wherever you got the money order), they might be able to track it and see where it was deposited.
