need to know if this is supposed to take hours or am i not doing something right. i can't get even one fish to bite. need to catch the cat so i can move on, beginning to hate this game and zelda is my favorite!

Stand on the dock near the cat, put your line in the water and just wait. When you see the bob go all the way down in the water, pull up hard on the wiimote to hook the fish, then just hold the remote vertically until you catch the fish.

Hi. It only takes a couple of seconds for a fish to bite. It will drag the long bobber down. When it goes under about 3/4 of the way, you have a fish on and need to reel it in. You have to catch 2 fish. The first one you get to keep and the 2nd one, the cat steals and carries home, advancing you in the game.
You have to be standing over by the windmill, behind the house, next to the wall, at the little dock outcropping. The cat should be following you, meowing.
Don't give up on this game. It's the best Zelda, ever!! I just finished it last weekend and it totally rocked!

Make sure that you have bait (bee larva from above the house across from the shop) and then stand back from the water so that when you do catch a fish, it will have to go across some land and the cat will see it.

There were problems like that for the last Zelda and the one before it. Face it, Zelda is depressing and just hawk that time waster then chip in extra for a playstation 3 while you're still young. If not, you'll be riding around seeing exactly the same stuff over and over and over again, and the music is soo wishy washy and drawn out, I'm tired of Nintendo, sorry.

Took Me a touch too. haha im easily typing this to you from the wii. Throw your bobber in watch it sink at the same time as a fish receives close to. at the same time as its completely sunk yank the wiimote again it is going to say fish on! then reel including your nunchuk. Its so cool!
