my wireless network card keeps turning itself off please help its very annoying im running windows xp on a pentium 4 desktop

bt internet 2091 wireless adsl router fujitsu siemens wlan 802.11b/g d1705/d1706 if this makes any sense

Go to Device Manager and look at the properties of the wireless adaptor, there is a tab called "power management" look in there and make sure that the "Allow my PC to turn off this card to save power" button is not checked.

Is there a mobile home telephone near the computer? These phones are know to affect wifi. Where is the router with respect to the computer? Could be that the computer is too far from the router. Check the signal strength by right clicking the connection icon and selecting status.

Are you using BT homehub? If yes, I congratulate you. It is always the case you mentioned. Even I buy other brands like BELKIN, NETGEAR, they are better but they still have these problems. May be wireless technology has not been mature enough? I swtich back to the old ADSL wired modem and it is now working fine.
