The other day I put the chip pan on, then as I put the chips in, the fat all flooded over the top of the pan. So i switched off the gas, not realising that it wouldnt go out completely for some reason. Then I got kitchen paper to mop up the oil. But the gas set the paper on fire. Then I had to try and get the paper to the sink, which was fortunately full of water, to put it out. But bits of oil laden burning paper kept dropping off onto the floor, washer etc.
So no, I dont think Im too much of a fire hazard. lol

Did Someone Say Hazard?

Unfortunately, yes, I am. I don't know how many times I've had to fan my smoke alarm with a towel to stop it from beeping and open the back door to let out the smoke. I'd make a great chef, huh? I've settled on staying away from the stove and just using the microwave. Good thing I don't have a family to cook for. :/

Who me? I guess you could say that, I do tend to forget what I'm doing. I've left a burner on all night and set the smoke alarm off three times in the last month. Is this what you're talking about? If so I guess I'd have to say, Yes.

well since you asked...last night I was doing a load of dishes in the idshwasher and I started to smell smoke or something burning. One of the plactic tablspoons (used for measuring) feel on 2 the heating element and started melting. What a nasty smell!
