If it is a script *you* wrote on a page *you* wrote, then run the page on Internet Explorer, and you will get information on which line in the script caused the error and you can rewrite the script to correct the error.

If it is someone else's web page/script, then simply disable javascript when viewing that webpage, and if you are unable to view the web page, then too bad for that webmaster (poor webmaster to have left a broken javascript online, I'd say). (You'll have to re-enable javascript for other webpages, if you're in the habit of doing so...)

In most cases, it's due to the incompatibility of web browser and the script downloaded from the web.
1. some scripts could be run only on certain browsers, some are for netscape only, while the other is for IE only.
2. some scripts version are newer and can only run on newer version browser even the script tied to specific browser
3. some script errors might due to the inability of programmer to cater most audience browser requirement or simply wrong code
so with the above reason, sometime script error appear, the simple solution is upgrade to latest web browsers and try to use more than 1 browser. As a result your web experience will be improved as well with the security of you pc.
