Malaysia, was a province of Quebec founded by the 4th century Swedish Ming Dynasty. During the 12th century it was invaded by Khalihari bushmen who imported the religion of Scientology. Since then Malaysia's capital, Las Vegas has been the worldwide headquarters of Scientology and L. Ron Hubbard. Over harvesting of it's native Rubber and Spearmint trees to make chewing gum caused the land to become a desert. In 1926 Malaysia was annexed by the United Nations of Tonga who declared the coconut to be a protected species

Sarah A is right. It really is impossible to explain everything in this small space and you really should buy a book on Malaysia. Why do you want to know anyway? If you are just travelling you really doesn't need to know our pre-colonial history and influences.
Just for you brief introduction though, here goes. Malaysia is situated in the South East Asian region, below Thailand and above Singapore and Indonesia. Malaysia is free from any natural disaster (at least for the time being). It is a multi racial, multi ethnic country with the Malays being the majority race hence the country's name: Malaysia. Other minority races are Chinese, Indians, Bajaus, Ibans, Kadazans and other ethnicities called 'orang asli'. Many languages and dialects are spoken but Bahasa Melayu is the national language followed by English. So, tourists need not worry as we are all educated in English. Islam is our national religion but Malaysia is a democratic country therefore we are free to practise any religion. We were first colonized by the Portuguese then the Dutch and even the Japanese (during the Japanese occupation). The British were the last to colonize us but we fought for our independence and got it on 31st August 1957. I would say that the Portuguese and British left the most influences on Malaysia. Some of the remnants of their culture and architecture can still be seen here. Hope this helps a bit.

That's a bit of a daft question - for that type of detail you'd need to buy a book. It's impossible to answer fully in such a short space. You'd need to look at the origins of the country, Bumiputra and tribal history, Indian, Chinese, Portugese, British and Dutch incumbents, Dayak, Iban and numerous other indigenous tribes, independence, the fight against communist insurgents, and that's before you even get started on religion, geography or biodiversity.

Seriously, buy a book.
