The word "lycan" is just a fancy name for a werewolf, they're the same thing. They may still exist. No one can really know for sure.

actually there is a difference depending on the myths u r looking at... some say that there are just werewolves. it is then that lycans and werewolves are the same... in other myths a werewolf is only onetype of lycan. there can be others such as a werecat...
as for do they still exist? they still exist in out minds and imaginations, but as for how the myths started many believe that the werewolf came from different legends in early religions.. there is also a rare medical problem that causes excessive growth of hair. to early ppl its a "wolfman"... also when children grow up by themselves w/ no human contact they become "wild"... they come across a stranger and they will appear to b an monster...
these are only theories but i hope they helped.

a lycan and a werewolf are the same thing. there is no difference. No real living werewolves/lycans have never existed. At least not the kind you see in hollywood movies.

Lycan is a werewolf, though it is which souds better for a game or movie, etc. Could have, maybe giant wolf of some sort, but not like get bitten by wolf and bam werewolf. Probably, you would get eaten by the wolf, it wouldn't just bite and go.

Lycans are more intelligent than Werewolves.
Althought Werewolves have more brute strength, they lack the common sense of humans, unlike the lycans which possess a high IQ.

Lycan is short for Lycanthrope, and was coined for the "Underworld" movies.
Lycanthrope= "Man wolf"
Werewolf= "wolf man" Were being the old german for "Man"
They mean the same thing, with lycanthrope being used to lend a scientific sounding pedigree to werewolf.

Lycan, short for lycanthropus, is the same as warewolf, but it is supposed to be a more scientific term (at least it is in latin).
Other scientific trem is "Homo Lupus", also latin.
There is no evidence that they ever existed. So I would say they don't exist.
