The first of many action to follow, and republicans are starting to fall because now they are accountable for their votes.
Is this only going to make republicans more committed to their declared path and want to fight tooth and nail for it, or will this force republicans to start thinking about breaking ranks and start trying to cover their own butts?

The american people have spoken!!!!
How will FOX try and spin this?

and who said this non-binding resolution was a waste of time?

If you guys cant see what door this has opened, I say stop watching FOX who has steered far away from this.
One of the most important debates in Congress and they want to keep to stripping gold digger and the weather.

this sets the stage for more proposals to come, and theres not much republicans are going to be able to do to hold it up.

No teeth. Well, watch them bite into bushes a** now

What started as non bindin, will turn into limiting what Bush can do, then turn into a straight redeployment or defund if this president doesnt try FOREIGN policy

Does Bush even know what the word foreign policy is?
Either way, democrats bask in their small step, while all republicans get to do is gripe.
Its a good day to be an American, because it shows our troops are being supported!!!

What happens now is the stage is set for the dismantling of the Simian Boy Kings Kingdom piece by piece. The days of incompetence and unaccountable Gov't officials are over. Nice job Dems--keep up the good work.

Nothing happens now, it was a meaningless non-binding resolution to pander to the Democrat base.

Untill Congress cuts the purse strings, which I don't beleive they will, nothing will change.

Just a question, why is it when a Democrat bill pass's, it is the American people speaking, but when a Republican bill passed, it was just the Republicans speaking?

Fox News, the number one news network in every category
( hard to imagine that ) from morning shows to pure political commentary will spin it anyway they want to.

My personal opinion:

This resolution was a stunt, just as the resolution the Republicans forced a vote on last year, about withdrawing all troops from Iraq, was a stunt.

If Congressmen or Senators truely believe that the Iraq war is wrong or right, I expect them to do everything in thier power to support their beliefs.

IE:

I think the Congressmen or Senators who are against the war, should cut funding for the war, or to add amendments to the spending bills that would force the president to redeply the troops.

On the other hand, I expect Congressmen and Senators who believe the war is the right thing to do, to fully back funding and to prevent any amendments tieing troops deployments to funding levels.

I said it before and I'll say it again. This NON-binding resolution has the same force as a UN resolution. Which is to say none at all. Teets on a boar hog have more purpose.

It's mearly an appeasment to voters who don't like how the war is going. It will have no POSITIVE effect on anything that is happening. Then they wouldn't be able to say well I voted for it before i voted against it. That is covering your butt.

IF the legislators had any REAL testacles they would make it a BINDING resolution. But then that would have required REAL commitment to a stand.

Yeah, our Demoncratic congress (and no, I didn't misspell anything) is really showing their support for our troops, yep, they sure are. They're showing them that they want to cut funding for weapons, munitions, body armor, food, medical supplies...you know, all the stuff that will KEEP THEM ALIVE while they're in harm's way. Man, that's just the kind of support our troops need, right? NOT!

And our Demoncratic congress has further shown their support of our troops by giving the insurgents more reason than ever to continue with their attacks on innocent Iraqi civilians and our troops. You can expect MORE bombings, MORE death, MORE destruction, and MORE troops killed by the insurgents, thanks to the Demoncrats who have encouraged this by showing our enemies exactly what they wanted to see - a lack of support of our troops.

Yep, our Demoncratic congress sure has spoken, all right....and our enemies have heard them loud and clear.

But you know, it's a funny thing...I have yet to hear a SINGLE Demoncrat say ANYTHING about just how THEY would end the war...all they say is "Bush is wrong!" and blast him for what he does, but not a SINGLE ONE OF THEM has come up with ANY suggestions on how to end the war. NOT ONE.

Yep, they've spoken, all right...but not for me, that's for damned sure.

we need to pick up the pace because the troop surge is already happening so I dont see how this has changed anything. More of our fathers, husbands, uncles, nephews, neices, wives, mothers are in harms way babysitting a civil war and it needs to end now. And they need to block any Iraqis from coming here!! 7000 are 7000 too many!!! Thanks GWB for bringing possible terrorists to our country. With so much outrage about mexicans here who mearely want a job!! We bring these guys!! Where is all the right wing rage at over these 7000 guys coming here???

When you allow the foundation you have built to crumble because of cowardness, and you don't stand up for your promises then you will fall. Alas, the republican party
