I've heard stories about this play. It might be a good show to pick people that you want to have light rigs falling on them...

First of all, I'm going to assume we're casting a FILM...if I laid a bunch of theatre names on you here, it probably wouldn't register.
Something tells me you're not going to get a lot of responses for roles like "Angus" or "Caithness." Let's stick to the majors.
Macbeth: I think Russell Crowe would be tremendous. He can play a real wicked brooding intensity, and, for much of this play, Macbeth is a guy who keeps his own counsel.
Lady Macbeth: Cate Blanchett. There's really not even anyone close. She'd be amazing.
Duncan: Peter O'Toole is probably too old now. The play really suffers when Duncan looks like a doddering old Santa Claus. Check out Polanski's earlier film of "Macbeth;" THAT was an excellent choice for Duncan! Still virile and vital...remember, his sons Malcom and Donalbain are very young men. Anthony Hopkins? Patrick Stewart?
Macduff: For some reason, David Morse is the name that keeps springing to mind.
Porter: Chris Rock. Funny, and foul.

I completely agree with the previous answer, with Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. Excellent suggestions. I'd add Helena Bonham Carter as Hecate.
