I know that the person who develops a perpetual motion machine will be instantly wealthy. I also know that many people smarter than me have invested a lot in trying to do just that.
So while I have pondered it somewhat, I am reluctant to invest time, energy and money into something that has such a high risk of failure.

I have often wondered about the age old experiment: if a cat always lands on their feet, and a piece of toast always lands butter side down...would butting a cat's back and dropping it create perpetual motion?
