You could hire a private detective agency that specializes in this.
At home, you could a search on Yahoo! or Google.
Just type in the words "people search". It will give you a list of companies that provide information and may be able to give you exactly what you want.
Depending on where you live there may be a great many such internet options available, and some of them may be quite sophisticated.
Once you get into a few of the sites you will often find other connections, leading to still more. Many will want you to pay money for the services: some are actually worth the expense, and more, but you might be lucky and not have to spend anything.
I know it works. It did for me. After not seeing her for thirty years, I spent a long time looking for a lost love, and found her. Love has bloomed again.

Did you have any mutual friends that might be easier to trace? Do you know the area where any family memebers you could ask might still live? Have you tried the Salvation Army? Have you tried posting a message on the boards on the Friends Reunited website? Sometimes local or national press such as the Daily Mail have 'lost touch' sections.

I've tried Friends Reunited and it was a waste of time for me too. They too must be registered on here otherwise it's a waste of time. You could try to advertise in the local paper, that way someone might know them and pass the message on. Good Luck

I researched names of people on "google" and finally found a guy I was in the military with ,and found him working for the FAA in Texas.
There were similar names and I contacted people with those names, but I also found that other people were looking for him also.
That gave me a clue as to where he was. He introduced me to this girl ,which was a best friend of his wife at the time ,and I was trying to find out what happened to her.
She was in Panama ,and I was trying to find out if she was alright after my country,USA,bombed the hell out of the region where they thought Noreiga was hiding in Rio Abajo, that is where she stayed with her sister.
I still don't know till this day if she is alright . My friend that I found ,said that his children still goes to Panama to see their mother, and he said they would ask her about Kathy.
My friend divorced his wife years ago,I knew these people back in 1978-1980.
So yes it is possible, just keep googling and call people even if you think that is not the person, because they might have some clues as to where they are.
Good luck in your search.
I often think of Kathy and hope that she wasn't injured or worse in the bombardment of innocent civilians that our troops caused back in the late 80's. I had letters returned to me,stating that the house did not exist anymore,so I am worried.
She was student at the University of Panama and she studied Tourism, and wanted to be a Travel agent and work on Tourism ships through the canal.
She was of Spanish origin and decent from the country of Spain.

It may not have occur ed to you but 25 years is one hell of a long time and things, places and people change a great deal in that period of time.
Like other questions: You have to provide some DATA about who you wish to find (if that person wishes you to 'find them' - may be worth consideration by yourself at lenght).
Trying to find people is not a matter of asking in the lost property office at your local railway/bus station.
In the mid-1970's a woman walked out of her home in Dublin. One of her sons, who died a tragic death in London at the age of 20 years, had asked me as a teenage boy 'no matter what' to continue to try and find his mother 'for him'. Finally at Christmas of 2005 I located his mother. I decided that this poor woman was better-off left in 'her current situation' and there was not anything that I could say or do to improve her life - 'either present or past'.
This is the situation faced by police officers the 'world over' that even when they do find a 'missing person' that person has every right to remain in their 'current situation' and the police give assurance to 'family members' that the person 'sought' was found and was seen by and spoken to 'by police' and is 'safe and well'.
The notion of you turning up on the doorstep of a person that you 'knew' 25 years ago, needs some very serious rethinking, don't you think?.
