Hi there! I would normally have wait until I missed my period or at least a few days before I was due but having had two children I was really sure I was pregnant by how I felt. I took the test 7 days before my period was due and it was clearly positive within 30 seconds. My last period was normal so dont think it was implantation bleeding. Anyone else have it positive this soon? Is it possible I was pregnant last period and that is why it is showing so soon? Could the level be higher because of possible twins? I had spotting through out my first borns pregnancy so I'm not surprised but thought I'd ask. I do know I ovulate earlier than most so perhaps that is why. TX!

I took a pregnancy test 7 full days before my period was due also (check my answers if you wanna) and i laid it on the sink and before i could pull my pants up (I know too much info) it was positive! I could not believe it! I took the pregnancy test for a joke cause it was one left over from the month before. I am the type that cannot wait either.
The brand i used was Answer. Then in my mind i thought that test is lying so i went and bought another one that same day (Clearblue easy) and took it and it was positve also. The answer test was more bold than the other test.
I would have to say you are pregnant. I did not have twins however, maybe your hcg levels are just higher than usual.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

All of the reasons you mentioned could be possibilities for getting an "early" positive. If you ovulated on CD10, tested on CD21 of a 28 day cycle - you would be 11 days past ovulation and could very likely get a positive result with a sensitive test. Some women do have full "period" like bleeding while pregnant. Twins would cause higher HcG levels which is what a pregnancy test tests for. The only way to really know is to have an ultrasound date your pregnancy.
What cycle day did you test on? How long are your normal cycles?

That is not abnormal. You may be right about becoming pregnant earlier or having multiples. However, first response is a very good brand of hpt.
In a clinical study. First Response was consistently the most sensitive, even detecting a lower level of hCG (12.5 mIU) than claimed by the manufacturer (15 to 25 mIU).
So, it may have detected an even lower level than it says it does.

Maybe you got pregnant earlier in your cycle than the usual halfway through - you can get pregnant at any time, including during a period, so maybe you are a little further along. A multiple pregnancy will also have a higher hormone level. All the very best of luck.

Trust the clear blue and first response tests. Dollar store tests are cheap and basically useless. When my sister was 6 months pregnant, for fun we all took pregnancy tests from the dollar store, hers came up negative. They really don't work in my opinion so don't worry. You're definitely pregnant, congrats!

after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.

Congrats on your positive test! I haven not heard that HCG is higher with twins but I guess it could be true. Maybe just the fact that you ovulate early in your cycle is te reason that you tested positive early. Again conrgats and good luck with your pregnancy.
