I think the tax should be raised $50.00. Also people living on welfare should not be aloud to use their welfare money to buy cigarettes!!!!!!!! I am an ex-tobacco user and the best thing that I ever did was quit. I find it amazing, I know several people who can barely feed their kids, but they always have money for smokes. That is just wrong. Also smoking in public places should be outlawed. Having a smoking section in a building is like having a peeing section in a swimming pool.

Wait a second... As in Jim Doyle of Wisconsin? WTF... The main reason I like living in Superior is because of the cheap cigarettes and booze... and now they're going to take away my cheap cigarettes too? Those were the only two things that got me to look past the fact that gas is $.10/gallon cheaper in Duluth.

This makes me want to move back to Minnesota. At least internet gambling isn't a felony in that state.

My name.... I'll give you 2 guesses.

Quit smoking five years ago....

It always amazes me that the gov't sits there and tells us that we shouldn't smoke - it's so bad for you, etc., but we *still* subsidize tobacco farmers.

Cigarettes are an excellent form of tax revenue.

No, They've already taxed cigarettes enough. I'm tired of smokers being the scapegoat for government so they can raise taxes. There is no need to raise taxes... period.

Its hypocritical. If smoking is so bad make it illegal. Taxing a certain group of citizens because they are unpopular is class warfare and is just as bad as taxing a certain ethnic group.

Too high. I don't want tobacco to go out of business. It's good tax money.

I do. I believe smoker should pay higher health rates than non-smokers too. They are more likely to use health care more than the average non-smoking person. By the way, I use to smoke (3 years) I hated the fact that I stunk, yuck.

If it will cause some people to stop smoking then I am for it.
I have lost two brothers to lung cancer and one of the brothers
wife died just recently of lung cancer. I also have friends that
smoke. No one thinks it will happen to them. Is it worth it?
One you are sick & dying it is too late.

Just another "I KNOW BETTER THAN YOU" liberal agenda.
Lets destroy (maybe the only one left) industries in the USA with another liberal cause.
Oh, and all you people that like to drink cola, it rots your teeth. TAX THAT TOO.
