I've been wearing eyeliner and have tried several brands. Most of them are great and there's never a problem until I try to line my lower lids. Then, a few hours later, I'll have black smudges under my eyes! My sister uses the same eyeliners and never has this problem. She says my skin is probably too oily, but it's not. I even tried putting powder underneath to absorb any oil and it doesn't help. Any suggestions???

I've been using the Christian Dior eyeliner for my bottom lids...the one that has a soft fuzz tip at the other end. For my top lid I use a liquid liner, which is great but a little too overwhelming when applied on the bottom as well. Thanks for the tips, everyone!

I recommend using a powder based pencil.

Liquid eyeliner is the most difficult type to apply and creates the most dramatic effect. It creates a very precise, defined line and is usually used on the upper eyelid only.

Pencil eyeliners are easier to control and have a more subtle look than liquid eyeliners.

Powder-based pencils are harder and can create a more defined line than the wax-based variety. Wax-based pencils are more amenable to smudging and can be used to create a smoky effect.

I'm not sure what type your using now or I could give you reference to a better brand.

Good luck sweetie and I hope this helps you.

Cheers,
Nona

Use liquid eyeliner - I use Bourjois or NARS - both work wonders. Pencil liners are great for that smoky look, but smudge like crazy

If you buy fake lashes and then cut them in half and put them on the outside half of your lashes - you'll enhance your eyes without having to resort to finding the perfect eyeliner - unless - the suggestions above work for you. If not give that a try. Cutting them in half makes them look more natural and it really does make your eyes more beautiful without makeup.

If you use pencil eyeliner please use Chanel, you will never buy anything else. I'm a makeup artist and it never causes me any problems. If you use liquid eyeliner get Divinoira - Guerlain Paris. I use those and I'm totally happy with them...

if your using wax stick, then it is the heat that causes it not so much the oil, try using a liquid liner instead
