I've never heard of this, but BOY, Google it and up comes an entire herd of sites! These will give you a place to start:

From Wiki:
"According to various observers there are many parallels between communist ideology and practices, and the economic and political system in The Smurfs, a popular comic book and animated series originally created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo. While some strongly support this theory, others see it as an ad nauseam overanalysis of something primarly aimed at children."

They are just blue and a cartoon...mostly all male and just one female...kinky!!! Interesting when you also know there is only one baby Smurf....who's his daddy??? I think someone has been smurfing Smurfette!

They live in a commune, which does not necessarily mean they are communist.

I wonder if they are blue because they are deprived of oxygen.

I don't know about communists, but they are blue and Gargamiel is a real pain in their necks.

BTW, do you know Gargamiel's cat's name?

They seem like they might be. They did work in common and pretty much minded each others business. More disturbing to me was that there was only one female Smurfette. What was THAT about?

I think they do live in a commune. Doesn't that make them communist?
