Why is life so difficult?

Life is difficult because of something called differential wealth. We are all troubled because of financial issues. That's the simple ugly truth of our industrialized world. Ask yourself how easier life would be if you had a billion dollars right now.

On the flip side, there's something called achievement and self-appreciation, that to many people is worth far more than anything of monetary value.

So hang in there and persevere because we're all in the same boat!

Because we make it so difficult. We make it difficult for ourselves and others around us. Our own desires and greed, and our inability to control and limit them makes it so difficult.

What do we ultimately need?

The only thing a man needs is just enough food to survive and a place 6 feet under to be buried in.

And look at this, look at this. Everything is extra. Ever since the day he is born until the very moment when the man dies, man works, works, and works. He works the life out of him and he begins dying as soon as he is born. This seems an awful lot of work for a stomach full of food and some dirt.

People spend their entire lives working their behinds off, or just plain stealing, lying, cheating, to satisfy their own greed and in the end everything single thing is left behind. It is left behind to be fought over and (possibly) be enjoyed be the heirs. You work so hard for it and other get to have it.

I will probably make millions of dollars throughout my entire life but you know what, not a single penny, not a single shiny penny of it will go with me to the hereafter. All of it, will stay here. I can't take it with me even if I want to. And even if I do take it with me, it is absolutely useless.

Difficult is a relative terms. All living things, including plants and animals has to go through plenty of things to continue to survive. We humans are relatively easy in dealing with everyday's life compare to other animals and plants. Most problems we faces are generated by ourselves. If we can let things go, we will make our life much easier and simpler.

Life is just what happens.... It's us that make things difficult (or easy) for ourselves through our desires and disappointments and the judgements we pass when we experience something that we classify as pleasurable or painful.

"Difficult" is a perception, a point of view. A judgement pass because we resist what is and desire what we want to be.

If one believes that this life is HELL ON EARTH..then if you pass this life you go on to the eternal life with God in heaven. So maybe that is why it seems so difficult. Must past the tests?

Also, you are given free will to make your life as you want/need it to be. Quit taking all things in a lump pile and trying to figure them out.....take one troubling thing at a time -- deal with and then go on to the next troubling thing in your life etc etc etc Good luck!

Life is indeed value neutral - so I would ask 'What is it in your life that you find so difficult?' This is really a therapy question. How can you resolve it? have a chat to someone like the Samaritans.

Its difficult because thats how we choose to make it.....I thought about this question for several minutes, I had this lengthy paragraph written out describing details and such, but then I erased it, because life is what we make of it. it's all to do with the kind of mindset we individually carry to face the world's challenges. life will never be a cakewalk. no matter how financially sound or emotionally secure we are, we will still have to face hardships. difficulties came into the world through sin and dis-obedience. and as long as we have sin in us, we will struggle and toil.
