Is anyone else tired of people answering legitimate questions with stupid asinie answers? I try to be picky about what I answer and not answer a question just for the 2 pts. Unless it is a question that is a joke.
I find it really rude, and many of them are offensive. Like a question that I just read, (which promted me to ask this question), a women wanted to know where to take her 2 yr old son on vacation, and someone wrote to strip for him.
Why do they bother? Unless showing the world how ignorant and pathetic you are, is what they are trying to do.

I completely agree with you. This "could" be a fun way to share information and experiences but it seems jerks have infiltrated this innocent and simple site. When you ask a legitimate question and get told you are an idiot - I rarely play here any more because of that.
Very sad when people use this as a whipping post - just shows how sad and inadequate they are.
As of right now, I'm going to try really hard not to let it bug me anymore.

I saw that question too and thought that answer was just innappropiate and distateful. I think some people put stupid answers b/c they're idiots and are bored. Other people put mean answers b/c they don't realize what is obvious to them may not be to someone else. It's so lame when someone will ask for help with a question then someone responds with some smart a*s remarks like "Why don't you just look it up?" or "Ever heard of .........?" Some people are just pompous pr*cks and think they are so much smarter than everyone else. They are usually the ones with 2,000 answered questions and 3% Best Answers.
I don't think they are trying to show the world how ignorant and pathetic they are, they just don't realize that they are and are exhibiting it by their stupid and smart a*s answers.

But let it be known that you must look at the profiles and view the percentage to see how credible the answerer is.
There is room for everyone here. I hope it doesn't go further down hill though.
Have fun with it and strive for high percentages (if that is your thing)
or strive for mediocrity (like most)
or be a complete ****** and tell mothers to strip for their kids (10% of the people)
I hope you all keep on asking and answering. It has become part of my online routine & I know that I have helped many so far!

You said it! I'm careful about what I answer, too - if I can't say anything of use and truthful, I don't bother. And it's because of stupid answers I actually stopped asking questions.
I think people do it to entertain themselves, snatch a free two points, and/or be shocking. Like in the example you gave - there's no excuse for an answer like that! It's just to shock and irritate readers. And, since this is an on-line environment, no one is going to come after you if you offend them.
You're free to be stupid, and no body knows who you are.
I guess that's why they call it "Yahoo" Answers!! LOL :)

i feel same way. just that there are mostly 12-14 year olds in here. i met a few 40 year old people that is 13 mentally too.

its not like the answerers are trying to look good for someone anyway. i bet they could care less.
i like them even on my own questions. always gives me a laugh and brightens the day!

EXACTLY!!! I have some rather unorthodox type of questions that i like to post...debatish type, yet only out of like 20 answers i get two that actually pertain to my question -_-'
