Was being on American Idol really that bad? Doesn't everyone know by now that being a musician, especially a touring one, takes a huge toll on a marriage?

I just read an article about him in the new Entertainment Weekly and he's acting all pissy like he didn't know being famous, and being known as someone who was on American Idol was going to be hard. Enough clarification for everyone?

American Idol is a huge scam and it brings about really crappy singers. I don't really care what Chris Daughtry does I hope he chokes.
