Not sure. It could be some spyware program has changed some security setting on your computer .

1)As you already have avast hope it is upto date
(2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
(3) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

Sounds like you're overloading memory. Try some housecleaning:

- Many users are not aware of how much RAM is used by wallpaper and/or a screensaver full of graphics. They run in the background and consume memory. (I have only 512mb RAM, run multiple programs simultaneously, and have set my wallpaper and screensaver to blank.)

I don’t do games, but I do know they are primarily graphics which need and use a lot of memory.

- How many programs do you load at startup? Maybe you should check it out and ensure you are running just what you need.
To do this: cl Start, cl Settings, cl Taskbar and Start Menu.
-cl Start Menu, cl Customize, cl Remove.
-cl the icon for the program you wish to remove
-then cl Remove.
-This will prevent the program from loading at startup, but will not remove the program from the hard disk.

-When you are working in a large file, save frequently to restore full memory access. (Your work remains in memory until you “save” it to disk.)

1.Did you run an error check? Open My Computer,
Right-cl on C:, Select Properties, Tools – Run an Error Check ( checkmark “check all and fix); then run a Defrag

2.Are you using Yahoo Toolbar? Run a full Norton Antispy.

3.From IE, click Tools, Internet Options
delete cookies
delete files (offline files)
clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want)
click o.k., and Restart

3.click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools – run Disk Cleanup

4.click Start, Run ipconfig renew (type ipconfig space renew)

All these things should be done regularly. The more frequently they are run, the less time they take.
-Note: Games and videos are mostly graphics. Graphics create large files. If this doesn’t help, you should consider getting more memory.

You have been hacked! Fifty IE popups is a dead giveaway, regardless of what Avast or Spy sweeper say. Avast may be OK, but I think Spy sweeper may be spyware itself! Hackers are not above putting a pop up that says "your computer may have spyware click here", and your computer proceeds to download a Trojan horse.

HI,
Sound like Over Temp to me, if your computer is over a couple of years old take the sides off and give it a "Good Clean" with a clean 2 ins paint brush and get all the crap out of it, and make sure that the power supply fan is nice and clean. Hope this helps.

Best programs for a good running pc and are free the first two get all the add ware when you use them one at a time. They caught a key logger first time I used them. The last one on the list is my favorite cleans all the junk files and a whole lot more .This and yahoo security suit are all I use to keep my pc happy.

It sounds as thought you have adware or some spyware. just get a good firewall or something and then use ewido to clean the computer.google search ewido and you need to get the free download for 30 days, it is very good, i bought it and am very satisfied with the results.

well it seems that you may have a virus. internet explorer pop-ups shouldn't be poping up like that. to get rid of spyware and such i sugest ad-aware. its a free program that works well. as for the antivirus, some times they do get by. i use norton to get rid of and protect me from viruses, but it isnt free sadly

Well... something's wrong in your registry. Either you have a virus, or your windows is acting a little crazy. Try system restoring your computer, and if all else fails, format your hard drive.
