Is there a way in Microsoft Office to insert items found in the Symbols box into your documents without always having to go to the insert menu? Also is there a way to navigate between subscript, normal, and superscript without leaving the Keyboard?

The reason is that I use math and science characters alot in my typing that arent found on the keyboard and this would be very helpful

I know about superscript and subscript with keystrokes:

"Ctrl" + "=" simultaneously is subscript. Hit them again to turn off
"Ctrl" + "Shift" + "=" simultaneously is superscript. Same to turn off.

"Ctrl" + "b", "i", or "u" are bold, italics, and underline. Same to turn off.

See this link for instructions on how to insert symbols: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP051895061033.aspx?pid=CH060830141033

Not the sort of answer you want, but if you're typesetting lots of math and science, then you owe it to yourself to learn TeX (or better LaTeX). It's the standard format for research articles, and makes beautiful documents that are impossible in Word.
