My son will be two in October. We live in Arizona and I wanted to plan a trip, but I am not sure where a good place to venture off would be with a two year old. Any suggestions will be appreciated...

Somewhere not to far away if you're driving. You could go to see the Grand Canyon, or Messa Verde. If you are flying, you should go somewhere calm without a whole bunch of people so that it won't be so easy to loose him. There's a bunch of great parks, you should look for a good national park, or you could visit lighthouses. I don't know, with a two year old, you just want something calm, when he's a little older then you can go to theme parks and stuff. Good luck and God bless!

DO NOT do Disney. Disneyland is so full of small children being hauled around by their parents....they are tired they are crying and they are terrified of the characters. Legoland would be far more appropriate for a child of the age of your child. Wait until he is about 10 for Disney, then he will appreciate the whole package and can ride EVERY ride. After Legoland, head to the beach, Mom needs a break too and the little one can build sand castles. Two year olds will not remember anything so do what you want to do keeping in mind he/she will need a nap.

Disneyland is not too far, and Disney's California Adventure is right next door. Both would be fun for a two year old. Just don't over do it. Kids that young get tired quickly. You might want to stay nearby so that you can leave for a nap and come back afterwords.

I wouldn't take him to any huge amusement parks at that age. He won't get full benefit from them. I'm a single mother and took my son fishing or to little zoos. One trip we went to Rome, New York to the Herkimer Diamond Mines and dug for diamonds. We also hit every little zoo in that area. He had a ball. He is totally animal oriented so anything to do with animals, we did. I took him to Disney World at 5 and all he wanted to do was fish in the hotel's pond and go in the pool. Do something simple. Its the time you spend with him that's precious, not what you do.

Disneyland, they have a staff that understand the needs and joys of little people (all ages) and you know they have things designed to bring joy to all ages. You can go on line to the Disney staff and get all the scoop, bet it would make a memory your two year old will remember a lifetime.

Disney by all means! You'll both have a blast. Any Sea World or Bush Gardens is good. Go to San Diego...the zoo there is wonderful.

San diego, California is great! the zoo and balboa park are fun, and legoland is geared towards little ones. downtown San diego is beautiful and the people there are social and much nicer than here in LA, our downtown is congested, and not safe!
