I agree it will depend on if this is an abdominal hysterectomy or a laproscopic. Go to hystersisters.com, they have a lot of info on hysterectomies of all kinds and help you prepare as well as adjust afterwards. They have a lot of info an traveling after a hysterectomy some self helps to make that easier and what to watch out for. My hysterectomy was abdominal which takes longer to recover from than laproscopic but I suspect that if you are careful and prepare well you will be able to do most of what you normally can if not all.

I just had a partial hysterectomy on jan 19. I was really bad for a week, I started to feel better the second week and by the 3rd week which was last weekend I felt so much better that I drove to Pittsburgh and I didn't have any problems at all. As of today I feel normal again. I'm sure you'll be fine going on holiday (i hope that may mean vacation) as long as you relax and don't do any drinking or dancing. Oh yeah and avoid stairs.

Good luck!

Have you been over working your self after having such a big operation surgery you should have almost complete bed rest for the first week then after that do no heavy duty things for 6 weeks and rest as much as possible. I would go and see your doctor if you really over worried but you should have an after care check up in about 2-3 weeks if you are not over worried then wait til then other wise make an earlier appointment. Also you peeing more than your drinking is your body keeping any infection away from the wound and also i would not worry about the bruising as some people bruise more than others depending on how sensitive your skin is. Hope this as helped.

After a hysterectomy as long as their are no complications or infections you will start feeling better after a few weeks, but they recommend that you take it easy for 6 weeks...so you should be fine to go on vacation in 11 weeks.

Good Luck
Have fun on vacation

11 weeks after my hysterectomy, which had complications, I was well on the mend....the usual period is approximately 6 weeks so by 11 weeks I think a holiday will be just what the doc ordered...good luck xx

Unless there are complications with your surgery, you should have no problems. It will seem unlikely at first because you'll be in a little pain but generally you should be feeling better within about 4-6 weeks. I would imagine however that your doctor will recommend no extreme physical activity. Try to take it easy.
Good luck to you.

Yes. Just remember to follow the doctors insructions. Get plenty of rest after the surgery. Don't try to do too much too soon.
Good luck.

Everyone is different. You will most likely still be tired. It depends on your age too. I guess it also depends on just what kind of vacation you will be taking. If it is low key and relaxing, you ought to be fine. Otherwise, you better gauge it. Listen to your gut.
