There are better pills on the market with fewer side effects. Ask your gp about yasmin.

to reassure you a UTI is not kidney disease, your GP would not prescribe it if there would be any considerable health complications and he will tell you all the risks when you go. the risks are few.

I'm gonna give it to you straight:

All the Pro's:

* Your periods may become shorter, more regular and less painful.
* Symptoms that often make the last few days before a period so unpleasant, usually disappear.
* Long-term use of Microgynon reduces the risk of cancer of the ovaries and lining of the womb.
* 99% effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies.
* Doesn't interrupt sex, like putting on a condom.
* May protect against Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.
* May reduce the risk of fibroids, ovarian cysts and breast diseases that are not cancer.
* Research has not shown evidence of weight gain or acne in women using the combined pill. Some women may find that their weight changes throughout their cycle due to retention of fluids.

All the Con's:

* You may experience some slight, temporary side-effects which could be:

Headaches
Nausea
Breast tenderness (this is common and normal)
Mood changes

* The pill may increase your blood pressure.
* The pill does not prevent against STI'S, so condoms may need to be used if your partner hasn't been checked out yet.
* Breakthrough bleeding and spotting is common in the 1st few months of taking the pill but this is nothing to worry about and should stop once your body becomes accustomed to the hormone change.

In response to your other smaller questions; i used to have a UTI and this hasn't stopped my nurse from prescribing me Microgynon 30 so that should be nothing to worry about at all. Kidney disease has no relation to UTI's what-so-ever.

Microgynon does the opposite of interrupting your periods, especially if you are taking the ED (Everyday) version of the pill. The 7 non-active pills allows your body to have a period in this allocated time slot. However, do not fret if you don't have a period in this 7 day time, just carry on your pills everyday as normal. There will be no "build-up" of blood or tissue in the lining of your womb and your next period will certainly not be heavier as a result of this. It will be lighter, which is one of the advantages.

I hope this has solved your problem and i also hope you are well whilst taking the pill. All should be fine. Most women are.

If you have any other queries don't forget to look at your little pamphlet which comes with your prescribed packet of pills. It has everything you need to know and if you are still in doubt; remember that your nurse or doctor is only a telephone call away...

Take Care.
:o)

You've asked a few questions here so i'll try to answer them all

1) Acne. I have never heard of acne being caused by Microgynon. Who told you this? (Would be good to know as i'm on this pill)
2) Weight. Sometimes women put on weight when they start the pill, but generally if its a big issue then you can try another pill which doesn't have this side effect, you are bound to be fine if you are only a size 10 in the first place
3) Periods. Your periods will change their dates when you start the pill. The advantage is you can control when you have your period (as you only have a peroid by taking the 7 day break).
4) UTsumut. Your doctor wouldn't have put you on this pill if your medical history didn't allow it so i wouldn't worry about that at all.

Going on the pill is a sensible idea, just take it correctly as per the packet instructions, if it turns out that its not the pill for you then you can try another one.

Hope this helps in some way.

Most of the weight gain people experience can be attributed to aging or other things really rather than just the pill. It is not bad just keep exercising and eating like you do now you should be fine.
Acne should get better on the pill not worse.
It will make your periods more regular than before. While on the pill you will have a period durring the week you are not taking pills or when you are taking hte placebo pills. It will be the same each month just when you stop the regular pils. It may be lighter and shorter in duration. You may not have cramps or backaches. Most people notice their period is shorter and mess blood.
A UTI is common in females and not a health problem.
They do not affect your ability to take the pill.
You should not smoke while taking the pill as it increases the risk of blood clots.

I was on microgyon but have now changed brands to a triphasic. Microgyon is the most commonly prescribed pill by doctors. I had no side effects. The pill does not cause you put on weight - it can increase your appetite which can cause you put to weight but if you watch what you eat and eat healthily, then you should have no problems. Also exercise will benefit too - i lost half a stone while on the pill even over Xmas when i was eating chocolate & cheese etc, so its a myth that you put weight on and can't loose it. It will also help with your acne, deffinately helped mine. Also always good have a back-up against pregnancy. Hope this helps.

Most birth control pills will clear up acne and not make you gain weight. It will regulate your period. UTI's are not kidney disease. I would not recommend Yasmin. I took it and it did give me acne and made me gain 30 pounds in a month. As soon as I stopped taking it I lost all the weight. I have taken many other brands of pills and had no adverse reactions at all. It just depends on the person. You should talk over the pros and cons with your doctor.

Uterine fibroids are usually not dangerous, but can cause immense discomfort and lead to complications like anemia from heavy blood loss. In rare cases, they may cause complications that affect pregnancy.

In cases where there are no symptoms, treatment may not be necessary. However, proper diagnosis and treatment may be required if your symptoms are severe or causing complications. Along with conventional treatment, you can try some natural home remedies. Read here https://tr.im/Wjm0q
