I'd get PrimoPDF, which allows you to "print" PDF documents from any application. It's free from http://www.download.com Just search for PrimoPDF.

Go get a PDF printer software form the web. I use one called PDF995 but there are a few others. It is basically a converter that installs itself as a printer. When you print the file, pick PDF995 and it will ask you for a file name and location. Type and name and viola...you have a PDF of the exact document.

Many new programs, such as WordPerfect, already comes with the conversion program. But, you cannot work with the converted document, only read it using the Adobe Reader. You need Adobe Acrobat to make adjustments afterwords, such as adding or taking away pages. I can create pages using different programs, such as WP, MS Publisher, and Corel Draw. You can also create links to web page, video files, and other things. You can create a signature box, which can be used to have someone sign the document electronically, than send it back, which has been legal for five years now.

CutePDF Writer installs itself as a printer. This enables virtually any Windows applications (must be able to print) to create professional quality PDF documents.
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
Download from the two links on the left (Free Download and Free Converter). Install both and you're done.
When you want to create a pdf click on File>Print>choose as printer Cute PDF Writer>in the box choose file name and path and Save.
