I tried something that works very well for washing my car at home. I took an old Miracle Grow sprayer that attaches to the hose and I experimented with various amounts of Jet Dry..the stuff you use in the dishwasher for spot free dishes. Once I got the right amount figured out I sprayed some directly into a spray bottle and tried it on my tiled shower after I scrubbed and rinsed it. Every day after the shower I spray the stuff on the tiles and it dries clean and shiny. Needless to say it works great on my truck as well. You should see what amount of Jet Dry works best with your water as the amount you add will vary with different levels of water hardness.

the spots are caused by minerals and salts which are dissolved in the water. When the water evaporates the materials that can't evaporate at normal temperatures stay behind. the only way to completely eliminate these materials would be to distill your water. This is really not something most people want to do. However you can buy distilled water at a store. (i usually just use a leather wipe on my car after i wash it ... it reduces the size of the water bubbles that evaporate making it difficult for visible particulates to form. you can get them at car supply stores, and it leaves no lint or residual on the finish)

About a 1/4 cup of fabric softener added to your buckets of rinse water will do the trick.

Spot free rinse is nothing but distilled water. No impurities in it leaves behind the dried up salts do in normal water-hence spot fee.

Mr. Clean makes this thing that you attach to your hose and it's suppose to help with hard water. It says it is spot free and there is no need to towel dry. You can get it for about 20 bucks at walmart or target.

Try adding some rubbing alcohol to the water. Windows washers use it to help the water evaporate faster. At least they used to.

try adding vineger my friend used to work for a expensive car dealer and it worked well to prevent water spots because it dissolves the minerals in water that cause the spots
