Usually, young women start menstruating a few years before the age that their Moms did.
I had signs of puberty for a couple of years before I started having periods at age 14. My daughters both started around age 12-13.
Just carry a pad or tampon in your purse, so you will feel prepared when it does happen. And enjoy this time, too.
Good luck!

There is a good chance that you will start at the same age that your mom was. I was 14 when I first started and my daughter was also 14.

No, the time you start has no bearing on the time your Mother started. I was 14 when I started, my daughter was 13 and my second daughter was 12...I do believe it pertains to your size...if you are petite or small, most likely you will start later in life, if you are above average you more than likely will start sooner.
Now this is a general rule of thumb, not set in stone, ok?! :-)
Good luck to you.

When your mom started her period is irrelevant to when yours will start because many environmental effects have changed over the years, affecting hormones, etc. Just relax and enjoy your life. It will come when it comes and don't be in a hurry because once it does come, you will have it for a very long time and then you will feel like you can't wait until it is over!

Every one is different . There is no way you can predict when you will start. Sorry. You just have to play the waiting game. I started mine at 12 and so did my younger sister, but my older sisters started theirs at 13 & 14. We we're all different.

Maybe, but it doesn't have to be that way. Puberty comes at different ages, but it often the time is related to your mothers. And, just to you know, I'm 13.

you may, but most girls now start getting their periods YOUNGER than their mothers did. some say it is because of hormones found in meat and cheese. all you need to do is relax and wait, it will come when it comes.
enjoy these days of not worrying about pads and tampons!

You might start sooner! Some girls start at the age of ten and some dont start until they are 18. I got mine after i started sprouting pubic hair but it is different for all girls!
