I am nearly 39, but for the last 6 months, my cycle has changed and I've had periods coming on different dates rather than being like clock-work as I was before. At about the same time, I did experience anxiety.

Since I may not be a candidate for the pill, what else can help me regulate the hormones? I know that something is changing since I don't feel like myself sometimes.

39 sounds awfully young to have started perimenopause, but then anything is possible.
Before taking anything consult your doctor, he/she will know.
There are blood tests to check out your estrogen levels. Also
an internal exam wouldn't hurt. One thing that will help you until you see your doctor is Vitamin D and Calcium 2x 500 mg tablets per day.

Good Luck.

Talk to your doctor. There are tests they can do to determine if you're nearing menopause.
