As long as it takes for them to stop denying that they been with a member of the same sex.

Just because they have had sex with a member of the same sex doesnot mean that they are gay, it just means that they were discovering what they wanted to know, and what they prefered.

It's doesn't take being with member of the same sex for one to figure out their sexual orientation.

It depends on the individual. The others have given great answers which I would have said myself. Hearing from my circle of gay friends, most of them figured it out when they were around 15 or 16.

there's more to sexual orientation than sexual activity.. sexual orientation is more then sex itself. it also involves feelings.. cravings for love/romance/dating/marriage..

then again, some people know for sure what their feelings are even before acting out on them.. most people discover their first crush when they are 10-12 yrs old, yet won't date or get sexually active until later in life..

It depends on the person. In my case it was instantly. Other people take more time because of their history, their background, what they think others will think, and tons of other factors that make it difficult to give an easy answer.
