What does "Straight but not narrow" mean? Also what is the meaning of "butch" or "dyke." I support Gay rights but am a bit ignorant about the phrases and words used in this culture. Tell me some more phrases from this culture too and no anti gays needs reply!

Both of your answers were very good. Now I feel much better about wearing my "Straight but not Narrow" pin with much pride because I know its' true meaning.

"Straight but not narrow" - straight but not narrow-minded, they're an open-minded straight person
"butch" - it's kinda vague term anymore that has more flavors that I'd care to list. Basically, an aggresive/"manly" lesbian
"dyke" - a lesbian, It's kinda insulting to some but many have reclaimed the word

Honestly, there really needs to be some sort of dictionary put out with how many terms and labels there are. Unfortunately many have a lot of meanings so it would be a tough undertaking.
