I have a Linksys Wireless B router (up-to-date firmware, checked that) that I've had for awhile, never really used it wirelessly until about a year ago. It worked just fine with my old laptop (which had an abg card in it), but not my wii. I'd have my wii set to wiiconnect24 and the router would bump everyone off randomly and I would have to go restart it before it would assign IP addresses again. Now, I have a new laptop and it's doing the same thing. It's just a wireless problem, when I plug my new laptop into it via RJ-45 it has no random disconnect or DHCP issues. My aunt uses the router as well, with no problems. It's only when I get on the router that it will disconnect and subsequently refuse connections.
It seems to be when I'm busy typing something and otherwise not "using" the internet that it will disconnect... I'm using it wirelessly right now. I imagine if I let it sit for 30 minutes and came back I'd find myself disconnected from the router and not able to connect.

So, turns out it was the router...
Just in case anyone else comes across this after having similar problems with their BEFW11S4 v4 Linksys Wireless B router... the newest firmware (1.52.02) is crap. Try downgrading to 1.50.14.
I don't have the link I used to get 1.50.14 handy, so just try looking around. It's not on linksys's http site, but somewhere in the depths of their ftp server. I found a forum thread specifically about this freaking router, people having the exact same problem.
Thanks for your suggestion, though!
