If he had, he would not have become King..as in those days, even mild retardation coupled with the unusal (yet I find very beautiful) features associated with Down's most likely would have had the monarchy dispatching him to an asylum.

I don't think so. Even though he wasn't a very strong king and didn't really make any good decisions regarding his kingdom, there is no way he could run a country and have down syndrome. I have never heard that he did. In his defense though France was at a turning point in their country and I think the uprising would have happened to most kings unless they were very strong and capable, which wasn't the case for a lot of monarchs. Do you remember where you read that? I'd be interested in taking a look at that.

He did not have Down Syndrome. His father died at age 35 and Louis XVI was ignored most of the time.

no he did not, apparently the royal family are of blue blood, which carries no abnormalities, thats why any child that shows inclination of disability is hidden away and raised by the maid or such, the royals wont ebven admit to being related, just look at the present queens great uncle , he had epilepsy he wasnt even allowed in the palace , the parents gave his nanny a cottage on the land and she had to take care of him there, he went into a seizure aged 10 and died, much to the relief of his parents, can you beleive that, and to think i was proud of our royal family, im sooo glad they no longer have full say over the common ppls laws

No he didn´t.
They say about him:
"A strong and healthy boy, despite being very shy, Louis-Auguste excelled in the school room and had a strong taste for English history and astronomy. "
