I think that its the people in high up places trying to prove that they are not discriminating against muslims in the fight against terrorism by focussing on another issue and stereotyping another racial group. I personally think its disgusting and can only be tackled when stereotyping of social and racial groups stops.

Actually places like England that have all but banned gun ownership are seeing tremendous increases in crime. The violent crime rate is now about ten times as high as it was before the ban on firearms. Here in the US we have seen a tremendous downward trend in crime over the last 8 or 9 years. According to the FBI, we are at a 37 year low for violent crime, a 45 year low for homicide. According to the NSSF we are at an all time recorded low for firearms accidents and all this while we are at an all time high for gun ownership. You need to do a lot more research before coming up with unjustifiable opinions such as this you, you are simply wrong. And the President does not have the authority fo do as you suggest. If he actually tried he'd simply fail, most likely be impeached and he'd certainly lose the next election.

Hand guns are already illegal in England, what more can the law makers do? When I was a teenager I was angry and had no repsect for anyone, the only reason I didn't shoot people was because I didn't have a gun.
The best way to stop the proliferation of guns is to stop foreign travel and foreigners working and residing in England.Loads of weapons come in from east Europe and Africa. But we're not gonna stop people from travelling so I guess we're stuck with it. Knife crime was big on the agenda 10 years back and a knife will kill someone as surely as a bullet. We have gun crimes until the next deadly weapon comes along. Maybe laser gun crime?
Keep smiling.

I feel that Gun crime and all crime is increasing. I believe the cause is partly a culture change. But also blame should lie with the Government. (Due to the fact that punishment is unfairly dealt out) Why should someone under 18 be treated any differently than adults. If you do the crime, be prepared to do the time, no matter what age.
If more money was spent on person policing the streets, rather than report and re-act, as it seems to be these days. I think this could reduce crime.
But. Mainly punishments should be harsh and fixed for ALL, no matter the AGE or SEX or RACE

Hang anyone that commits murder in this country, simple as that.
As long as these scumbags are getting off with a short jail sentence there's going to be a massive increase in gun crimes and killing in most forms.
Teens have started using the gun now, and thinking nothing of killing in cold blood. The police and the law are being taken for suckers by these vermin and it's time a strong government came along and insisted on the death penalty for deliberate murder.
All the decent living people have had enough of do-gooders and there so called strategies, we know now that there simple ideas to combat crime doesn't work.
Let all good citizens lobby there MPs to re-introduce the death penalty. I realise we are supposed to be more civilised but it is uncivilised what the low life are doing to us, it must be stopped now
''no ah's or but's'' lets do it.
Think about a killer, what on earth are they good for, they are no good to anyone and only a threat to society.

What did we all expect to happen in this country, hardly any of the younger generation are scared of punishments, you are no longer allowed to give your kids a clip round the ear, teachers are going mad because of bad behaviour, the police would rather takle motorists than crime..
Drugs has to be the main culprit for the break down that is happening in our society, nobody ever thinks that the dealer who they buy their bit of smoke from is the small man at the bottom of the ladder,it's the men at the top who are running the show and the powers that be are unable to tackle the problem
There needs to be tough laws and the do gooders need to shut up for once

Gun crime, like all other types of crime, only occur because those who are supposed to be in charge of our well being, are too busy looking after their own well being and interests. They are aided and abetted by the media who take the opportunity to cash in on our fears at very little cost to their budgets, no real journalists to pay, no research expenses. Then when something is about to happen which may reduce crime rates, out come the bleeding hearts to protect the villains interests. They are the boil on the backside of the British common sense attempts to right the wrongs being done to us on a daily basis. Shamefully spearheaded by no less than our p.m.s wife who gets very rich on our ill cared for victims rights.

These cases nearly always come down to drugs.also absent fathers although not in the latest case. But the glorification of violence and guns in the rap gangsta videos can't be good.
Heard today on the news that much of the funding for the groups that are trying to help out in the troubled areas has been cut at the same time £30million has been spent training "smoke police" for when the smoking ban comes in on the 1st July. When will they get their priorities right.

Silly boys thinking they are puff daddy and 50 cents. They have no respect for human life - you show them a lack of respect (like they know what the word means) and they blow your brains out - is is as simple as that altough, the do-gooders will tell you a different story. Life is cheap to them plus, they know that cos they are 14 there is no real punishment. It is shocking but when you dig beneath the surface, it's always drugs and gang disputes behind it. Build more prisons, bang people up carrying guns - it's illegal in this country!. You can't reason with these people - they don't care about life.

They had that group that tried to do something about it, they made adverts, music videos etc hi-lighting the affects of gun-culture but the government pulled funding for it before anything was shown. Sucks right. I think it's mostly to do with young boys trying to be men before there time, there watching there peers and role models and copying thinking that it's cool, then theres the video games and movies, music, the lack of control of parents and the lack of respect of most young people these days....
