The Toro Rosso team hasn't introduced its 2007 motive force lineup yet. Scott speed became interior the motor vehicle for the in simple terms appropriate attempt of the year at Jerez final week and, i think of we are able to be constructive approximately his probabilities of being on the commencing grid (in a Toron Rosso motor vehicle) at Melbourne, whilst the recent season starts off in March.

It's idiocy not to have him in the car already. A smaller team like STR needs as much testing and practice time as is legally possible; waiting to sign him only hurts their chances.
No doubt the reason is money, not skill - they team probably didn't want to pay more, despite Speed's performance in 2006. Aside from choosing slick tires at the wrong time in Hungary, he didn't make a single mistake all year (the "penalty" in Australia was as much bu**sh** as Alonso's at Monza). Plus, Speed _had_ speed - his times and positions were equal to Liuzzi's and he was regularly competitive with mid-field teams like BMW-Sauber, Honda and Williams.

Yes. Scott Speed will be racing for Toro Roso. The only reason why he wasn't around for the launch is because his management is in negotiations with the team. They are working out the details of his contract.

Speed will probably be there. I'm so glad Tonio is staying, he's my favorite. I really hope Speed does well this season, since I'm an American. We haven't had a good American driver in F1 in a really, really long time. It would be nice to see another good one.

As long as they don't find a better option that can bring money too, he should be in. But he's going to have to really fight for next years seat as well since Sebastian Bourdais is looking to take it next year.
