I don't know whatbrand pc u have but my pc came with the software installed and not with the actual xp cd. It did come with some other software. I made the two recovery discs just in case. I am giving u two links. one is specifically for the issue that u seem to be having and the other is for support. It is better to do things this way than here, being that the support representatives are more equipped to help u. yes someone reading ur question may have valuable advise, but if things get worse after u follow their advice, u won't have any options as far as troubleshooting goes. The representatives at microsoft can be held accountable before anyone here can. Good luck.

Usually, the disk will say "XP install disc" or "system restore disc" or even "OS install disc"

If you do not have a disc like that, then you probably have a recovery partition installed on the computer itself, you should read through the instruction book for the computer about doing a restore to see if you have a partition or a disc. Some brands have the partition, some brands have the disc, it really all depends.

It Depends on your computer brand. It should say reboot disk on the disk and it will have your brand on it. usually reboot disks for xp have two disks. If you cant find them your best bet is to contact your computer manufacturer.
I hope this helps

take off the cover to your hardrdrive, you'll see some black disks. Goto the bottom disk, take a magnet, run over the bottom left side, and take a pencil, write on the section binary device
