From the terrorists they choose as leaders to the jihad promoted in their schools, their culture is drenched in violence and hatred. Each time the world has offered them sovereignty — an offer that the Kurds or the Chechens or the Tibetans would leap at — the Palestinians have opted instead for bloodshed and rejectionism.

"What do you want more," a frustrated Shimon Peres once asked Yasser Arafat, "a Palestinian state or a Palestinian struggle?"

Over and over, Palestinians have chosen the "struggle." The very essence of Palestinian national identity is a hunger for Israel's destruction. Both the Fatah and Hamas charters call for the obliteration of the Jewish state through bloodshed. A two-state solution — Israel and Palestine living peacefully side-by-side — is emphatically NOT what the Palestinians seek.

How about Iraq and Afganistan?

You present a very one sided view of Palestinians. Have you met any? They choose terrorists as leaders because for several generations now they have been undermined and exploited by world powers, including the United States and Israel and even their neighboring Arab states. If you had had your land and home and business stolen from you, and if you had seen your children beaten and killed, and if you had had your business blockaded and supplies shut off arbitrarily, you might turn to violence as well.

The Colonies of America turned to what the Kingdom of Britain considered terrorism after being treated far less badly than Palestine. Try walking a mile in your brother's shoes before casting stones at him.

I don't know, the French? Well, they're not so much terrorists as idiots.

I guess it's the difference between having a reckless, violent teenager out on his own and leaving a toddler on the street. The only reason that toddler survives is because of the kindness of strangers.

Maybe the Biblical Amalakites. I think the "Palestinians" are their spiritual if not biological descendants.
