Last year I underwent surgery to remove a non-malignant brain tumor. Since then I have been doing some of the things I have always dreamed of doing. One of these things is scuba diving. I haven’t talked to my Docs yet about it and was wondering if any of y'all out there have dived with this kind of condition.

I would think that after a year you should be fully healed and it would be OK depending on the depth you are planning to go to.

Be smart though, because I doubt anyone on here is a brain surgeon...as a professional.

When you dive the water pressure will compress any air pockets you have in your body(ears, lungs, sinus). This can create a dangerouse situation if you are unable to equalize this pressure for any reason. The most danger is in shallow water since this is where the pressure changes the most as you ascend or descend. Check with your healthcare professional.

you need to call the DAN (divers alert network) hotline at 1-800-446-2671. also, talk to a local physician that specializes in dive medicine. diving can be dangerous under certain circumstances, and all of this that your asking us to answer, it is all dependent on your personal health condition, if you are alcholic or on drugs (not saying you are....) and many other things. The only person who can answer your question is a person who has full knowledge of your health, and the condition of your brain. The best person to call would be a local physician that specializes in dive medicine. sorry i can't be of more help!

Shouldn't be a problem. If you can handle any strenuous activity and are cleared by your surgeon. Don't dive if there is any chance of seizures.
