The NFL is in love with Speed. While it is important there are many more important traits, but most don't get that.

Ted Ginn Jr is the answer because we need a playmaker, and that is what he is. Is he the greatest receiver at his position? No. Is he probably the best bet for a return man this year? Yes. Look at the Vikings return teams the past few years. We haven't had a single solid KR, and MeMo hasn't performed well on PR. Ginn will give us that element, just like Hester gave it to the Bears.

As far as some of the other comments made. We don't need a pass rushing DE, James and udeze are good, just Tomlin was preaching a stop the run first approach which hampers a good rush, and besides James was out all season last year, he will return this year and will give us some strength on the outside. As far as DB goes, I think we make a run for clements from the Bills, trade Smoot for a draft pick, te, or wr. pick up a possesion receiver in FA and then take Ginn in the first, a S in the second and let things go from there. WR is our biggest need and it needs to be addressed in the first round. Calvin Johnson would be great but that isn't going to happen, the next biggest WR playmaker is Ginn. He will help next year, but he will impact on his second year when he and T jack have the chemistry

Ginn is not the answer. His numbers were not even that great in college. Compare them to Jarrett.

Dwayne Jarrett USC
2006- 12 games 1015 yards 12 TD's
2005- 13 games 1274 yards 16 TD's

Ted Ginn
2006- 12 games 789 yards 9 TD's
2005- 11 games 611 yards 11 TD's

Ginn is just overhyped because he is fast. Jarrett has receiving skills. Jerry Rice wasn't always the fastest guy on the field but he had great skills. Jarrett played like a pro at the college level. Jarrett is going to make a great pro and the teams that pass him for another receiver especially Ginn will be really sorry.

Ted Ginn Jr. is not the answer for Minnesota. They just took a speedster in the 2005 draft with the 7th pick- Troy Williamson. He ran a 4.37 at the combine. They released Nate Burleson, another speedster also. If they think Ted Ginn Jr. is the answer then they are wrong. Go with Dwayne Jarret, he has a lot of actual recieving talent.

stud is probably the best way to describe a great player (check into the fantasy football world)

the vikings defnitely need a WR worse than anything. that troy williamson kid is the biggest stiff i have ever seen in the NFL. He drops 80% of what is thrown at him. They cannot afford to blow another pick like the one they used on him. Ginn is a nice prospect but I'm not sure I would take him this high. Jarret is projected way later than their first round spot, but I would take him over Ginn. He is bigger and more physical than Ginn. Jarret has the type of hands that could see him enter the hall of fame one day. I'm not sure why they have him projected so late. Ginn has big play capability and is a prospect to return punts and kicks, but he is a little undersized. Look at Steve Smith though, he is one of the best and is undersized.

Anyway you look at it, the pick will be a gamble, but they must address WR! Maybe they can trade up and get Calvin Johnson (that would make Vikes fans very happy!). I'm not sure what would be available in the second round, but they also desperately need a pass rusher and a defensive back (32 ranked pass defense in the league last season.....despite having all those big name DBs that couldn't cover me (especially fred smoot, what a bust he was!......he was supposed to be the next champ bailey, hahaha)

HEY TWISTID.................UDEZE DID NOT HAVE 1 SINGLE SACK LAST YEAR! NOT 1! HE IS THE BIGGEST STIFF TO START DE IN A LONG TIME, SO YOU NEED TO THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE YOU MAKE AN UNEDUCATED STATEMENT. ANY VIKES FAN KNOWS THEY NEED A PASS RUSHER. THEIR RUN DEFENSE WAS GOOD AND THEIR PASS DEFENSE WAS THE WORST (this is due to not having good players, not what the coach was preaching)

and PLEASE STOP COMPARING GINN TO RANDY MOSS PEOPLE! Randy Moss scored like 50 tds in his college career (broke the record), and he is 6'5" compared to ginn being barely six feet. Moss is a deep ball guy and ginn is a speedy playmaker. Sure, they are both fast, but they are completly different types of players, not to mention Moss produced WAY more in college.

Ted Ginn Jr. is def. a fast wr but hes so small in built, which could lead to him getting hurt very easy in the nfl which has alot of wear and tear so he woujld most def. need to hit the weight room hes another troy prolly better then him, and more prepaired then troy is and jarrett is a good wideout too but more of a postion wide out which is a good thing too he had a great bowl game agisnt one of the best corners in college im not too sureabout his hands but the vikings need a play maker at wideout thats foresure which one fits better depends on a lot of things, they should get a playmaker in free agency but calvin johnson would def. be the best bet so lets pray the bucs dont pick him up

look what happened when they had randy moss they are almost the same speed ginn runs a 4.30 and randy a 4.29 thats why he can be the answer and when they had moss the other recivers got open more because they would souble cover moss . plus tavaris jackson and tedd ginn would be a good combonation

i completely agree with you, but they won't get him.
teddy is a speedster without routrunning or catching ability. at ohio state he was more of a presence that had to be minded than a true go-to guy or redzone threat. he is going to go to the atlanta falcons, who are trying to stockpile 1st round wide reciever busts.
he will be a great kick/punt returner and nothing more.

lmao at tigersrock151515 on the 6 second kick return!!!
ok let me break it down, that would have been for every 40 yards 2.4 seconds... sorry bud if you really want to get into it, he would have went 300 feet in 6 seconds, meaning he would have been running nearly 40 miles per hour
