You are obligated to pay rent for every day you are in that apartment.
You see - you made an agreement to pay the owner of the apartment for the privilege of living there. Now, as a adult you are expected to live up to the agreements you make.

If you are being evicted because they are tearing down the building...NO. If you are being evicted for non-payment of rent, YES! You signed a legal document agreeing to pay rent for a designated time frame. If you are being evicted for non-pay, and say your lease goes through next December, they can obtain a judgement for the total rent through next December. So you would have to pay them what you would have, living there or not.

Well, you didn't mention what you are getting evicted for. Personally, I have never been served with an eviction notice.
Was it a court ordered eviction? Was it a paper saying that you have 7 days....
Either way I wouldn't....
Screw 'em.

You need to get on the web and find out what your states renters rights are. But if you owe the money then you should pay, no matter why you are being evicted.

Of course you have to pay. Nothing is free in this society so face the fact that that is the way it is and pay the bill. Question I have is why do you think you wouldn't have to pay the last months rent?
