And if it is so, how could that be? Why do people associate the two phenomenons? Is it just coincidence?...just wondering :)

Different people will have different perspectives on this. I personally believe that we are very much a part of nature (c'mon we're the human animal) and moon cycles do affect women's own cycles.

The moon affects a lot of other things in nature, such as tides, weather, and may even affect our own moods.

In many indigenous cultures around the world, a woman's period is known as her moon time. Women are thought of as way more powerful at this time, so it is an excellent time for them to have a positive focus and pray for their communities.

Also, I've heard that if you spend a lot of time with other women (siblings, friends, etc.), they may start to have their periods synchronize. This has to do with pheromones.

It's important for women to realize how natural their periods are, and not cursing them or trying to get rid of them with dangerous hormonal pills / patches. I was on the pill for 6 years and if I had known then, what I know now, I wouldn't have gone on them. The negative symptoms and side effects are not worth the convenience.

Here are some websites on the connection between the moon cycle and our own, if you're interested:

Nope it defines no longer some thing. The earth and the moon are in orbit round a barycenter. the unlucky effect of this "dance" and the imbalance forces between them brought with regard to the moons rotation to sluggish till it precisely suits it orbit era. i can not bypass into the mechanics of the complicated equipment besides the undeniable fact that it no longer an twist of destiny or a wild twist of destiny. mutually the moon is being pushed father away and the earth is definitely slowing down its rotation. At one time, some time previous, scientists theorize that the earth had a 5 hour day.

The two do not effect each other. Most women are not menstruating in rythm with the moon's cycle. However they are associated with one another because they are both on a monthly cycle. I think that is why women are somtimes compared to the moon or the moon is described as female becuase they do have that similarity. But the moon cannot determine when you have your period! that has to do with hormones in the womens body.

As per astrology yes, the rotation of the moon influences the menses. Whether that is true or not is another question.
