Yes, I believe in Atlantis. Cool grandma. I started reading about Atlantis since I was a child, my mom thought I was nuts. If you care to read anything that's really interesting about Atlantis check out, "The Secret Doctrine", by Madam Blavatsky. Fascinating. I was told by an acquaintance some years ago that I lived in Atlantis in a past life. I though this was pretty cool, since I've always been interesting in reading about it.

Your beliefs are carrying on a very old and fascinating legend. That's not such a bad thing. Still, a bit of knowledge is always nice to refine one's beliefs. We've only heard of Atlantis because Greek writer Plato wrote of it around 400 BC. It was a great trade island trade city that sand into the ocean in an earthquake. Plato's knowledge of the world did not extend much beyond the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, much less around the world in Australia. There's been much speculation that it may have been in the area of the Azores islands, just outside the Mediterranean, but it's more likely the legend is based on the volcanic islands off the Greek coast, such as Santorini or Crete, where the fascinating culture of the Minoans lived (a known real civilization as interesting as the Atlantians, I think).
One legend about Atlantis has recently been proven to be unlikely: That they could burn ships with a giant mirror. Discovery channel's Mythbusters tried a full-scale experiment to see if it would work and it proved very impractical. In fact, it would be useless on a cloudy day. You can't call off a war because of an overcast.

I think tere is an Atlantis, yet I believe a lot of out there things too.
What my interpretations are is probably different than the legends that were told. Um... I guess maybe not. It was said to be an ancient civilization like Lemuria, where evolved beings were. They revered science, and so they were able to develop more technologically than most. However, they lost that knowledge when their island basically dissappeared from the map. Whether or not it is still in existence somewhere is up for debate, but I do believe it did exist on this plane at one point and time.

Atlantis probably did exist, but not the way we usually think. If one goes back to the original Greek or better yet Egyptian legends of "Atlantis" we see a very different legend they the current one. Atlantis was probably a civilization in the mederterain in the bronze age we call the megalith builders. the island that blew up and sank is probably Santorini which is near Greece. So yes there was an "Atlantis" but not as we think of it

I definitely believe in Atlantis, if I am not mistaken I believe it was shown up on Egyptian or Greek artwork because at one point in time they traded supplies with one-another? So I think it had to have been an Island between Greece and Austalia. Also I saw a brief ad on the travel channel saying they believe they found atlantis. I unfortunately missed the shows time to begin at. :(

Aristotle testifies that his instructor Plato invented it, so it not in any respect fairly existed. there is not any aspect out of it in the previous his writings. He suggested Egyptian monks informed Solon about it, yet there is not any longer some thing about it in Egyptian literature. He suggested it grow to be previous Gibraltar, yet geologists say that is not any longer plausible for such an area to be there. Plato says Athens defeated Atlantis, so it will not be a marvelous civilization, regardless of if it were authentic. The time it grow to be suggested to be destroyed makes no experience. anybody who believes it grow to be authentic is gullible. Believers in Atlantis possibly even trust 2012 is the top of the international and different such "balle".

As a highly advanced society of the bronze age that was destryoed by natural forces, yes I believe it did exist. History Channel had a profile of one of the possible sites, where it places Atlantis as being the society often refered to as the Minoans. (A name given by the archeologist who discovered the ruins of a great palace, and based that name on the discovery of Throne which he saw as being similar to that of King Minos of Mythology.)
The fact is that we are not as smart as we like to think we are. Archeology is still a crap shoot, and guessing game. They claim to have found Troy(Trojan War)as well, and certain aspects of Mythical Troy match up with Plato's Atlantis. For all we know Mythology was simply inspired by events and was not intended to be used as a historical document. If our society fell for any number of reasons and in 10,000 years it rises to a level much like we are at now, and their archeologists unearth a modern bank vault. and Inside they find a safety deposit box full of some guy's Superman Comic book collection, could they not assume that our age included real superheroes and alien vistors. The fact is that much of mythology was lost from public knowledge for many years, so the original writer's intentions are unknown.

It's an old Greek myth. I believe in it about as much as I believe in Amazons and gods. It is probably based upon the a city that existed on the island of Thera, which was exploded by a Volcano and half the island is now under the sea. Most myths have some basis in fact, but it is usually pretty distorted from the real story.

I think it's definitely possible, I'd agree with the Bermuda Triangle part, but there are so many places where they say that they think they've discovered it, so it's a bit confusing lol.
