I am only 26, had a hysterectomy 2 years ago which put me into early menapause. I can't take the hormone replacement therapy because it causes my pain to reoccur from endometriosis. How long does menopause last? Are there any natural things I can take to stop the continuous hot flashes and night sweats?

Drink soy milk. It's the most natural thing you can take to ease these symptoms. The duration of menopause \can be different for everyone. Try to stay away from hormone or estrogen therapy drugs. as they can lead to cancers.
Do a search on wild yam products. This is another healthy and natural way to combat symptoms. Good luck to you.

I am sorry to hear about what you are going through. I too suffer from Endo and the docs have talked about doing a hysterectomy, but they haven't yet. I have a friend who has taken Estroven (might want to check the spelling) and she says that is has really helped w/ the hot flashes and night sweats. I am pretty sure you can find it at a Walgreen's or CVS or really any pharmacy.

I maybe older than you but I am nowhere near the age of the average women goes through the menopause, so I have not experience what you have. It is quite terrible by my option that you have to suffer like this, I am not going to have the menopause because I know it is possible to stop it from happening, and you should demand more work to be done on this issue.
There are a number of people who are working on this terrible problem and there has been a book written by Beth Rosenshein called "Preventing Menopause, How to stop menopause before it starts". I know you have started a premature one, and not all women have menopausal symptoms, my mother periods stopped when she was 52 and that is all that happened to her.
There are a number of people who are working on ways to enable women who have been through the menopause to ovulate again, it is possible to reverse the whole thing. I did for my dissertation for my MA a project on the abolition of the menopause.
There are great people out there trying to work on ways to stop it and as I said even delay it. Roger Gosden is a great pioneer in this field for women to have the same opportunities to have children late in life like men do. Roger Gosden is the author of "Cheating time" and "Designer babies"
You can order Beth Rosenshein book on the web. Please don't use HRT is is made from mare's urine and is unnatural and there has been a lot of scares recently about it. What you need is to have your own natural hormones back, read Beth Rosenshein book, she has a premature menopause because she was only 43 when she had her's, she explains what can be done for some one in your situation and you can be put on her mailing list too, so she will inform you, on what is going on in research and you can also put questions to her, that I can not answer because I have not experienced what you have been going through, but she has and she has done a lot of research into this subject, so she can possible help you.
All you have to do is type her name in and the name of the book and you should find information on her on the net.
One hundred years ago most women were dead before the menopause, but it seems to be such a problem as it takes away women's options as far as being able to have children and for some women it isn't a nice time. I have an article about a girl of 14 who had ovary failure, and went through what you are going through at 14. Though most women have the menopause at 52 children can go through it too.

Sorry, you are very young. I would definitely contact your gynecologist or family physician. I sympathize with you since hot flashes and night sweats are very unpleasant.

I had early onset perimenopause, so I feel for you.
The thing that helps me the most is an herb called Vitex.
I use the brand Nature's Way and it helps so much.
It tells on the label how much and when to take it.
Another supplemental herb( if the Vitex alone isn't enough)
is Black Cohosh.
Good luck!

The best thing to do for your symptoms is to get regular exercise. 20-30 min at a time, for at least 3 days a week. Honest. It works and it's free and safe.

The menopause is permanent. Your body may adjust to the homonal changes over time but better to take treatment. If HRT is not a solution for you, try homeopathy or ayurveda.
