I just bought a gateway 22" widescreen. It didnt come with a DVI cable. Im running a 7900 GT vidio card that has this option. Is there a noticable difference in video quality if any?

Some people can, others can't. It really all depends on how picky you are, and your eyesight.

Generally, the larger the screen, the more the DVI cable will help. On a 22" widescreen, you should see a noticable difference in clarity.

The short answer is no.
DVI is simply digital like your video card, it takes less to go from digital to digital (less signal loss)
unless you are using a high resolution and a really big monitor (like 36+ inches) you wont notice anything...

you will not notice a difference on the desktop unless you have a 1080i image on it but you will notice a difference in games and dvd's DVI is a Digital Signal and has much more data transmitted across it thereore you get better resolution and refresh rates
