I stayed at Westgate many years ago. At that time the newer area was fine. But, they put in an one of their old buildings first and I would not have stayed there. Luckily they still had the new ones available and I was able to move. Since they are trying to get you to buy, they will most likely put you in their nicest rooms. But, I haven't been there an a while, so I don't know how nice, nice is now.
Overall the condo was pretty good.
Personally, I would do the timeshare thing. They say it is 90 minutes, but it will take a lot longer than that. By the time they meet up with you and take you through one of their rooms, give you all the info, try to sell you on it , try to get the manager to sell you on it, make you new deals, etc., etc., etc. you are looking to spend at least half your day there. I find them very annoying and inconvenient. I would try to avoid them if at all possible, not exactly a good vacation to me.
Hope this helps!

I work in timeshare in Orlando and Westgate is super-high pressure!! It never takes only 90 minuets, plan on being at least 3 hours. The packages are great deals, but you are subjecting yourself the half a day of high pressure salesmen. You really have to ask yourself if missing out on your vacation time to be beat up by a salesman that drives a lexus is worth it.

Yes, Been there and done that. Its not 90 min. its more like 4 or 5 hours. The sales people are high pressure and rude. Some of the rooms I wouldn't let a dog sleep in. If you want to ruin your vacation then go ahead and book with Westgate. ....Here's a review...: Its worst in person ! Treated like cattle !!!!

Many vendors don't even offer this property. This is NEVER a good sign! To keep it short, it's a "great deal" because in my opinion it is a dive property.
I would look for something else as I think you will be quite disappointed with this one.
Have Fun regardless of what you do!

I have seen these people trying to sell their units at Universal. If you stay there, they are going to pressure you really hard to buy. I heard that those presentations aren't fun and that the salespeople can be down right rude if you don't buy. I would never want that job.
