I have been researching Jupiter....soem sites say that there are 16 moons, and other sites say that there are 63 moons. Could you please tell me which one is correct? or if both are wrong? i need this answer quickly!

By 1975 the planet was known to have at least thirteen satellites. But in 1979 3 more satelites were discovered bringing the total to 16, number that lasted until 1999, when at least 46 tiny moons ranging from 3 to 9 km. were discovered. The total number of known moons of Jupiter now stands at 63.

63 yes, but I do not think there is a IAU standard for a moon. So could the billions of particles around Jupiter in the ring system by moons? What about Saturn? There are questions that need to be addressed here.

Jupiter has at least 63 natural satellites. Of these, 47 are less than 10 kilometres in diameter and were only discovered since 1975. The four largest moons, known as the "Galilean moons", are Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.

there are hundred million trillion moon on jupiter.....lol...jk i dunno but jeeves does....hehe
