Toyota Camry would be up there somewhere. Stay away from Impala. It's crap.

Accord is a good car. Can you get an Acura TSX for $30k? If so get one of those. Or buy a used Lexus LS400/430 They are the best.

I would look at the Ford 500...I own one and i think it is the best quite, smooth ride out if all if the above! Plus it has alot of room in it as well. It also have the worlds largest trunk space! I test drove the mentioned vehicles you listed. However what ever you buy, buy American!!!

Though it is not listed in your options, and costs over $30k, the Rolls Royce has always made a thing about how smooth and quiet they are. One of their older ads (before digital clocks) used to state that at 100 MPH, with the windows up, you can hear the clock ticking.

Smoothest, cheapest car would be a Chrysler 300.

I think the problem is more your PT cruiser than the Corolla being a superior car. I have an Infiniti and a Toyota and the Infiniti is smoother in every possible way.

The smoothest running and quietest cars are hybrids (or electric cars). You can't even hear them running. They are also very fuel efficent and there is a wide variaty out there if you look.
