Wheeljack: You obviously haven't watched the Mavs very much at all this year. He's been a tremendous leader all season long, he's led he's team to tough wins by taking over the game ever since that crappy start, and he hasn't yelled at a teammate in two years. And Dirk doesn't leave it all up to the supporting cast. He's not a Kobe or a T-Mac. He knows he's not the only player on his team and the way he plays is more proven than the one-man show formula. He could score 40 points a night if he wanted to but that's the great thing about him. He's that rare superstar who care less about his own stats and cares more about winning. Catch up, bud-the man's doin' it all.

Dirk Nowitzki and the words "leader" or NBA "Champion" don't really go together. Dirk will NEVER lead a team to the promise land and win it. He's too soft and seriously he's not a leader. He crumbles under pressure and will not win it for the MAVS in the clutch. To be honest Howard seems to be the leader of that team and the best player too. Teams scout against Howard not Nowitzki. Howard is the key! If Dallas lost howard due to injuries then the MAVS are toast!

yes hes the best and we will win it all this yr. he ha the kleadership and is a team player he always gives his team confidence when struggling last time i checked thats good. dont know what u been doing ur not watching the mavs though.

Sorry guys, but I think Mavs will suffer what Detroit suffered last year. They will flame out in the playoffs and lose to the Suns. Once again, Dirk will prove he is not clutch, Howard will commit a bonehead play and Cubans gonna get a tech in a crucial situation. They will get their points but Suns will get more

I don't think so. Dirk still seems to lack the true leadership ability. Yelling at your teammates is not the sign of a good leader. Also there are nights where he really tends to be less aggressive than he should, leaving it up to his supporting cast. Anything is possible but I don't think this will be their year.
