I agree with Wheeljack. Hardaway should have used the word "uncomfortable" not hate. He, like most people who have not had dealings with gay people and suddenly find themselves among them probably would feel uncomfortable. It certainly is not the like style I would live but I don't hate people just because they are different from me.

Hardaway really screwed himself and his family by shooting off his big mouth. Who knows how much money in endorsements he lost by exercising his first amendment rights.

No, he did what's called a Freudian slip. The only thing is he slipped and let his true feelings known big time by ranting them like a mad man like the guy who played Kramer did.

And I don't think it has to do anything with what might have happened between him and some gay person. Most likely it is some bigotry that some family member handed down and brainwashed into him when he was little.

And to respond to the person that said that most people hate gays including him. Would you hate your best friend or brother or sister or son or daughter if they told you they were gay? You never know who around you might be gay and doesn't say a word about it. Would you go from loving and caring for that person to simply hating them? If you would, that's really sad.

I think Tim Hardaway's comments were made because he had mommy issues growing up, and therefore needs to say hurtful things about other people, to make himself feel special.

While studies have shown a link between homophobia and increased homosexual arousal (ie. homophobes are more likely to be gay than non-homophobes), this is far from saying that being homophobic, or anti-gay means that you are gay.
I really doubt that Hardaway's statements stem from supressed homosexuality, and I think that all the people who jump to say so are being childish, however the posibility does exist that Hardaway is gay.
In short, no.

Maybe Tim doesn't like gays because he doesn't agree with the way they live. I mean really, it is sick. I'm sorry but I could never see myself attracted to another man. I don't know if I would have used the term hate, but being gay is certainly unnatural and not the way it was intended for us to live.

I don't think that he is gay but it is possible that he had a bad experience in the past. Maybe when he was younger someone raped him. He is openly homophobic and there is a reason for everything.

That would be a strech. I think it was just him stating his opinion in his own blunt way. There were better ways for him to make that comment.

no. i think its just a thought that most males have towards gay people in our society. the whole thought that 'this guy likes guys...so he probably likes me' type of reasoning...

but just because a woman is supposed to like men...doesnt necessarily mean she's gonna like every man she sees.

its his opinion though...and he's paying for it now.

No, they were just stupid and thoughtless - I'm sure he didn't think that his comments would become the top sports headline in America.
